Safety Instructions

Copper Vessel Safety Instructions

Avoid Hot Water:
Do not pour hot water into the copper vessel.

Allergy Warning:
While rare, some individuals may be allergic to copper. If you have a history of copper sensitivity or copper-related health issues, avoid using a copper vessel.

Limit Storage Time:
Do not store water in the copper vessel for more than 8-9 hours.

Prevent Tarnish and Patina:
Copper tarnishes over time. While tarnish itself is not dangerous and may reduce the reactivity of copper with water, it can become harmful if the copper surface starts to rust and forms a green patina. Regular cleaning is recommended to prevent this.

Monitor Copper Intake:
While copper has health benefits in moderation, consuming excessive amounts can lead to toxic symptoms such as vomiting, jaundice, muscle pain, diarrhea, and, in severe cases, liver damage, heart failure, or kidney failure. The maximum daily copper intake is 8 mg for individuals aged 14-18 years and 10 mg for those 19 years and above.

Avoid Storing Acidic or Alkaline Liquids:
Do not store liquids like fruit juice, citrus beverages, carbonated drinks, or acidic foods in the copper vessel for prolonged periods, as copper can react with acidic or alkaline substances.

Cleaning Instructions

A: Inside Cleaning

Prepare the Cleaning Solution: Take lukewarm water (slightly warm, not hot) and add salt to it.

Add Lemon Juice: Pour lemon juice and salt into the lukewarm water, then pour the mixture inside the copper bottle. Close the lid and shake the bottle vigorously for a while. This helps loosen any tarnish inside the bottle. For stubborn tarnish, you can use a soft sponge, soft cloth, or dish brush.

Rinse Thoroughly: Immediately rinse the bottle with cold water to ensure all the lemon and salt residue is removed. Failing to wash this mixture off properly can result in accelerated tarnishing and the formation of verdigris (a green patina).

Dry Immediately: Ensure you thoroughly scrub to remove any oxidation that may have occurred due to the bottle reacting with the acidic lemon juice during the cleaning process. After rinsing, dry the bottle immediately to prevent tarnishing.

Avoid Harsh Cleaning Methods: Do not use a dishwasher, hard brush, or any hard material to clean the bottle, as these can damage the copper surface.

B: Outside Cleaning

Prepare the Cleaning Solution: Mix lemon juice, a small amount of salt, and a little water to create a diluted solution.

Apply to Affected Areas: Dip a soft cloth into the solution and gently rub it onto the affected areas of the copper bottle where tarnish is present. Focus only on the tarnished spots to avoid unnecessary wear on the rest of the bottle.

Rinse Thoroughly: Once the tarnish is removed, rinse the entire bottle thoroughly with cold water to remove any remaining solution.

Dry Immediately: After rinsing, dry the bottle immediately with a soft, clean cloth to prevent water spots and any potential tarnishing.
